The URL of a subscription journey

Particeep Plug subscription journey come with their own URLs by default. However, it is possible to modify the 2 parts of this URL: The domain name and the path to file.
Important
Even though the "Path to file" part is editable, the "/stepX" part will be mandatory and non-editable, whether on a default Plug URL or a custom URL.
Changing the domain name
This is therefore a manual intervention by our Support team
- purchasing a dedicated IP (optional if you already have a purchased domain name)
- the specific manual configuration of the Particeep solution in order to point your DNS server to our Clevercloud servers.
- the configuration of your domain in our database.
Important
If you do not wish to give us access to your DNS, please let us know your IT contact so that we can specify the procedure for changing your domain name.
Buy a domain name
There are many services that sell domain names such as OVH.
The procedure is quite simple: find your domain name and buy it online. Count less than 10€ / year for a .fr or .com
It is important that you carry out this step yourself because the domain name must belong to you. It would be dangerous for your brand if a provider bought your domain name: it is an asset of your company.
Configure your DNS
Point your domain to your platform
DNS is the protocol that links a domain name to an IP address. So you need to point your domain to our servers.
Case of using a domain without "www"
If you are using a domain without the "www" (ex: https://votre-site.com)
In this case you need to add 4 records of type A to the following IP addresses:
185.42.117.108, 185.42.117.109, 46.252.181.103 et 46.252.181.104
[Recommended] case of using a domain with "www"
If you use "www" in your main address (e.g: www.particeep.com)
In this case you will need to add a record of type CNAME to domain.par.clever-cloud.com.
Note: Clevercloud is our hosting company, so the "CNAME" points to them.
Once these operations are completed you will get an error message from Clevercloud or your browser saying that the page is not accessible (as it is not secure).
Securing the domain
All Particeep platforms are secured via the " Let's encrypt", this is the protocol that replaces http with https in URLs.
Particeep takes care of this step when the switch to your final domain name is done.
Final setup steps
Once we have secured the domain, it will be registered on Clevercloud via our teams and you will have access to your platform via your domain.
Changing the path to file
It is possible to modify the "path to file" part, in order to have a shorter URL or so that it follows a certain logic with the different URLs of your parent platform. Here is an example of a custom URL:
In this new format, we can find :
- /s/p-XXXXXXX/: The 'X' will be replaced by a unique ID of at least 6 characters. This value will be decided by the Particeep teams.
- /abc/123/ : These values are fully editable. Some examples for your URL: /my-product, /review/my-course, etc ...
- /stepX: This value is not modifiable. It is unique to each page of the subscription journey.
